The spring and summer of 2016 sees the Mexborough Community Campus Partnership between Mexborough Miners’ Welfare Institute and Recreation Ground and Mexborough Life Church make a positive step towards securing the the future of community led provision of youth activities.
As the Community Campus Easter activities continue plans are ongoing to firm up the partnership between the two organisations based on New Oxford Road.
‘Mexborough Community Campus’, is a partnership project, drawing together like minded organisations who long to see community regeneration and restored hope in our town.
The ‘Campus’ vision arises from the physical location of two of the key partners, Mexborough Miners’ Welfare and Athletic Club, and Mexborough Life Church and Centre, on New Oxford Road in Mexborough. For some time these two organisations along with Doncaster Council’s Youth Service, who operate a youth centre on the same site, have been in discussion about how they can come together, to complement each other’s work and together have a greater impact than they could working alone.
Working together the partnership will build on the activities of both organisations, the Blue Chair Cafe and the provision of sports for young people.
More information will be shared as these plans develop so watch this space.
