Put this date in your Diary 27th May 2018 sees Graham Oliver – Founding Member of 80’s Rock Legends Saxon returns to where it all began. Oliver Dawson Saxon will headline the first ever Mexborough Music Festival to be held at Mexborough Athletic Sports Club. Supported by local bands, performing free of charge, ODS will be raising money to help fund the Youth Centre on New Oxford Road, the same building in which Graham learnt his skills in his younger days.
The event is being supported by local business including Mezza Pizza who have funded the hire of the main stage and sound system.
The Line up includes many local favourites and regulars at the Imperial Brewery who are also supporting the event.

Profits from the event will fund the youth work of Mexborough Community Campus through both the Youth Centre and Junior Sports at Mexborough Athletic Sports Club.

Mexborough Youth Club was returned to Mexborough Miners Welfare by DMBC to be run for the benefit of the local Community. Mexborough Miners’ Welfare Institute and Recreation Grounds is registered with the Charities Commission and operates as Mexborough Athletic Sports Club. Providing low cost access to sports for the population of Mexborough and surrounding area. The Youth Club is also registered with the Charities Commission. Both operate in partnership with Mexborough Life Church and other local partners as Mexborough Community Campus.
The Youth Centre now operates as a Community Centre providing a Youth Club plus rehearsal space for many of the Bands performing at the Music Festival. Money has been secured to run additional Youth Projects focusing on identifying and developing music talent in the young people of the town.
